Mercedes-Benz cars use the in-house developed and high-performance 7G-Tronic and 9G-Tronic classic automatic transmissions, as well as AMG Speedshift and, in some cases, ZF transmissions.

What gearboxes are used in Mercedes cars?

5G-Tronic – older models (until 2006).
7G-Tronic / 7G-Tronic Plus – E, C, S, ML, GL models.
9G-Tronic – latest models (after 2014).
AMG Speedshift MCT/DCT – in sports models.
ZF 8HP – in some 4×4 or commercial vehicle models.

How is the repair going?

Diagnostics – uses Xentry or Star diagnostics for error and pressure checking.
